Scope and Contents

Dawes writes to say she is on her way to Philadelphia and to ask whether, if "brother B." (Sam) knows any "editorial brethren" in the South, he might "martyrize himself" and write her a letter of recommendation. Dawes continues, "I think with infinite content of all the happy [and] friendly talk you made to me when I was in that blessed home. I don't think very well of the most of my kind, but you help me."
