Scope and Contents
Papers and photographs pertaining to Fosdick Beach Harrison (AC 1890). The papers were produced during Harrison's time as an undergraduate at Amherst College. Folder one contains a journal kept by William Robinson Harrison from November to December of 1849. The journal was repurposed by Fosdick Beach Harrison as an account book covering the years 1886 to early 1889. Folder two contains receipts and correspondence relating to activities at Amherst College, including a subscription receipt for the Amherst Student and letters addressing an injury Harrison sustained during a confrontation between class years. Folder three contains diaries for the years 1887, 1889, and 1890. Harrison makes regular entries commenting on the weather and on academic and social activities. Folder four includes a copybook in which is written one lecture on the "Attic Orators" from the winter term, 1888. Folder five includes three photographs including Harrison. Two of the photographs feature the board of the Olio.
