Abstract
Kim Townsend taught English at Amherst College from 1962 until his retirement in 2008. The Kim Townsend Papers consist of research materials for his two major publications: Sherwood Anderson, a 1987 biography of the American author, and Manhood at Harvard, a 1998 book discussing the development of gender roles and norms in the post-Civil War US.
